Biking
DAY TRIPS #
Lochside Regional Trail #
This is truly the crème de la crème of biking routes. It’s a whole-day trip. It’s almost like a triathlon!
- Drive from Vancouver to Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal.
- Park in the long-term parking area. (Bikes don’t need reservations, and you’re usually among the first to board and the first to get off!) Sometimes the parking lot can be full! :)
- Hop onto the ferry using the designated bike paths. Enjoy the ferry ride.
- Get off the ferry at Swartz Bay and hop onto the Lochside Regional Trail.
- Lochside ends about a few kilomoters from destination so continue to downtown Victoria via the Galloping Goose Regional Trail.
- Eat, rest, and enjoy.
- Find a bus to get back to Swartz Bay. The buses have two bike racks in the front.
- Catch the ferry back to Tsawwassen.
HALF DAY TRIPS #
Seymour Valley Trailway It’s a paved road for bikes in the middle of the forest! Many people. Park your car at the parkade at 4450 Lillooet Rd, North Vancouver, BC V7J 2H9 (Watershed Center). Choose the paved road OR the gravel on the other side of the river. They say starting from the Gravel road is better because its less steeper going in. Then you can come around using the paved road. The gravel road is not for the faint of the heart. :)
